[Update 3 - CFW] HABIB 4.53 CEX: Cobra Edition v1.03

[Update 3 - CFW] HABIB 4.53 CEX: Cobra Edition v1.03

PS3 Developer smhabib (aka HABIB) has ported Cobra 7.0 to his 4.53 CFW. "HABIB 4.53: Cobra Edition v1.00" features; PRX Plugin support at Startup, ISO Mounting, & NTFS Support and contains the usual patches found in most CFW's. There are a few known bugs that have not been ironed the developer warns about as seen below. These bugs should be fixed in a future release. At this time you can choose to stay on current 4.46 Cobra CFW's or upgrade on to this new 4.53 option. When comparing the two options at this time 4.46 Cobra CFW's provides a bit more support overall, but that is not to take nothing away from the fine work that developer smhabib is doing with this release. View the official release notes on this CFW release.

Update v1.03 - (Dec. 20): See update v1.03 below for all the details and latest changes from Habib (aka smhabib)

CHANGELOG v1.03:

1. PSP support fixed
2. Restored original ps2 emus.you can use ps2 classic as compatibility is same for cobra and ps2classic for ps3 slim.i cant fix ps2 issue of bc consoles as i dont have any,so compatibility between cobra and ps2classic on bc ps3 will vary....

MD-5: D7C73D636340A622644DBC86BE16260E

Update v1.01: HABIB/COBRA 4.53 v1.01

CHANGELOG v1.01:
1. Disabled block of peek by cobra which cause black screen if controller not connected through usb.(Thanks Deank for your idea )

HABIB/COBRA 4.53 v1.00 (CEX)

  • PRX Loading at Startup,
  • ISO Mounting,
  • NTFS Support are working but however I didn't test PS2 as I don't have BC consoles and didn't patch for PS3 slim as PS2 classic and Cobra uses same ps2_netemu.

KNOWN BUGS:
1. PSP of Cobra gives black screen but Remasters work (might be addressed in future)
2. mmCM (not Iris Manager) gives black screen if controller not connected (most likely mM (multiMAN / mmCM) issue as Iris Manager loads without a problem. )

NOTE:
1. PS2 ISOs for slim is PS2 Classic as Cobra and PS2 Classic uses same ps2_netemu
2. mmCM shows firmware version 4.46 for unknown reason.

ALSO:
I got no bc console to test PS2 so pls do test and if any issue, ill try to resolve

WARNING:

  • DONT TRY TO SPOOF!

All the other patches of a cfw is included

DONATION:

TO OTHER DEVS:
stage0 base needs updating and stage1 flash_mount_446.S.flash mount uses ppc 64 bit instructions found in lv2_kernel and in lv2_dump,if you do not do this or the system cant allocate stage2 then it will kick you in recovery mode

TO PREVENT COPY-CATERS:
Signatures on offset 10108 of lv0.elf

WHAT I HEARD:
mmCM can work without connecting controller to PS3 by changing its id (BLES80608)TO ANYTHING ELSE

THIS COBRA PORT IS DONE FIRST TIME BY ME,SO I MAY PROVIDE UPDATES OVER TIME..

The Vita Scene really seems to be picking up speed lately. It was only a couple of days ago that Total_Noob released his much anticipated TN-V4 eCFW and then earlier today Total_Noob released TN-V5 eCFW. With this updated eCFW, Total Noob has brought us quite a few changes making TN-V easier than ever to use. For a more detailed list of updates, see the changelog below:

TN-V5 CHANGELOG

* Added ‘Plugins installer’ to recovery menu (Plugins -> Plugins installer ->).
* Added option to hide non-working items in XMB (these items will be hidden: Character Set, UMD Auto-Start, USB Auto Connect, Format Memory Stick, Power Save Settings, Network Settings and Remote Play).
* Added option to hide the volume bar in the home menu.
* Fixed bug that made some ISO’s showing as corrupt.
* Fixed plugin loading crash.
* Fixed autorun feature (also corrected its filename in recovery menu).
* Fixed the sleep-timer in music player. It’s cool, because the Vita’s music player doesn’t have this feature.
* Improved ‘Install Addon’ feature. Kxploit’ed homebrews, aka 1.50 homebrews can now be installed correctly.
ZIP’s which do not contain EBOOT.PBP don’t create corrupt icons anymore.
* Improved system stability. Hopefully there are no issues with FTP app and no blue screen of death anymore.
* Renamed ‘Hide CFW folders’ to ‘Allow anti-CFW games’. People who play DJMAX game should enable this.
It's great to see the Vita receiving this much-needed attention and here's to hoping it continues.
